Alexander Ivanov and Prof. Alexander Boldyrev report studies revealing the mystery of aromaticity in porphyrinoids using Adaptive Natural Density Partitioning (AdNDP) approach.
Boldyrev's group using theoretical models showed that the bonds within hypervalent iodine compounds are dative. Thus, double bond notations in the majority of textbooks might be incorrect and should be corrected. The work published in Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.
